Kiana gives us Ki in the Kitchen!

Hi, my name is Kiana Rollins and I’m from Brooklyn, New York. My family is from the West Indies, by way of Barbados. I’m 26 years old and I can proudly say that I have always been inspired by food. Since I was a kid, food was something that was used to bring my family and friends together and that has always stuck with me. Ki in the Kitchen is so important for me because being someone who works in media, I am used to telling other peoples’ stories and I wanted this brand to give me the opportunity to share my own. My brand had to start in the kitchen since the kitchen is the heart of the home, and it is truly where my heart lives.

Kiana shares some insight with us as she prepares for culinary school this month!

Dreams can be scary because sometimes they come to you when you aren’t anticipating them. When chasing your dreams you have to remember that you are the one who has the power to create your reality.

One thing I have learned throughout this journey is that I am braver than I ever thought I was. I always knew I was strong, but I am continuously shocked at my ability to be afraid and do it anyway.

I think the one piece of advice I can give to someone on how to do it afraid is to really believe in something. I feel like if you have your faith, belief or hope in something it gives you purpose and a reason to wake up and try again. My faith source comes from my relationship with God and my belief that God has a plan for me despite how things might look at any given moment. I now feel closer to my purpose than ever before, and to me that alone is reason enough for me to keep going.

Congrats to this talented chef and my very best friend, Kiana! Proud is truly an understatement. Be sure to follow and support her journey at @ki_inthekitchen on instagram for delicious recipes and all your culinary needs!
